Chrysoberyl Cat’s Eye is a rare and highly valuable gemstone from the mineral family Chrysoberyl. It is famous for a unique optical effect called chatoyancy, where a bright, sharp light band moves across the stone like a cat’s eye.

The finest Cat’s Eye gemstones come from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), especially the gem-rich region of Ratnapura. Sri Lankan stones are known for their sharp eye, high transparency, and classic “milk and honey” effect.

This gemstone is always cut as a cabochon (smooth dome shape) to clearly display the moving light line.
