Star Ruby

Description

Star Ruby is a rare variety of the Corundum gemstone family that shows a special optical effect called asterism. When light hits the stone, a six-rayed star pattern appears and moves across the surface.

This effect is caused by tiny rutile needle inclusions inside the stone. Star Rubies are usually cut as cabochons (smooth domes) to clearly show the star.

They are found in countries like Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Madagascar, and Thailand, with Sri Lankan stones being highly valued for quality and natural beauty.
